Expected 2027 dates
1 Dhul Hijjah: 7 or 8 May 2027
Day of Arafah: 15 or 16 May 2027
Eid al-Adha: 16 or 17 May 2027
These are astronomical planning estimates. Saudi authorities will confirm the month after the Dhul Hijjah crescent-sighting process.
The first ten days
The opening days of Dhul Hijjah are a special season for good deeds, remembrance, prayer, charity and fasting. Those intending Qurbani should learn the relevant guidance from a qualified scholar.
Day of Arafah
Standing at Arafat is the central rite for pilgrims performing Hajj. Muslims who are not performing Hajj are encouraged in authentic hadith to fast on the Day of Arafah, subject to health and individual circumstances.
Follow confirmed announcements
Because the date affects Hajj, fasting and Eid al-Adha, confirm the Saudi announcement and the guidance of the recognised authority in your own country.
