Eid al-Adha 2027
Expected: Sunday 16 or Monday 17 May 2027
10 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH
Eid al-Adha begins one day after Arafah. Saudi Arabia confirms the Dhul Hijjah calendar used for Hajj after the crescent-sighting process.
Planning guidance
- Do not make non-refundable plans using an estimated religious date alone.
- Check announcements from the recognised authority where you live.
- Remember that the Islamic day begins at sunset.
- Local prayer and Eid congregation times are announced separately.
Why the date can differ by country
Islamic months begin according to the method accepted by the relevant religious authority. Local crescent sighting, regional sighting and calculated-calendar approaches can therefore produce different announcements. Treat advance dates as planning estimates until the authority you follow confirms the new month.
