Morning and Evening Adhkar

A concise selection of authentic remembrances for the morning and evening, with Arabic, transliteration and meaning.

Read morning adhkar after Fajr or in the early morning, and evening adhkar after Asr or toward the evening according to the guidance you follow. Quality, understanding and consistency matter more than speed.

Protection from harm — three times

Arabic: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Transliteration: Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma‘asmihi shay’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami‘ul-‘Alim.

Meaning: In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Reported in Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi.

Contentment with faith — three times

Arabic: رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا

Transliteration: Raditu billahi Rabban, wa bil-Islami dinan, wa bi-Muhammadin Nabiyyan.

Meaning: I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Islam as religion and Muhammad as Prophet. Reported in Abu Dawud.

The three protecting Surahs

Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas three times in the morning and evening. Reported in Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi.
